Twain Harte Horsemen, organized in 1948, is a non-profit 501(C)4, non-political, non-sectarian organization. The club promotes an interest in riding horses, good fellowship, education, and horsemanship. The club has approximately 100 members. The club has many activities including trail rides, work parties to maintain trails, campouts, trail trials, informational and educational events, BBQ’s, and more. The largest and most popular event is the week-long Eagle Meadow High Ride. This trail ride fundraiser has been held annually for over 50 years. Club members also participate in the Mother Lode Round-Up Parade and the Columbia Equestrian Parade. Twain Harte Horsemen has a use permit from the US Forest Service for the Center Camp facility, where we have the riding arena, many miles of trails and restrooms facilities. We offer the use of Center Camp to youth groups and other horse organizations at a minimal or no cost.
